One Sale, A Lot of Silence, and Why I’m Still All In

There’s a strange kind of magic in selling your first card.
It doesn’t matter that it was just one envelope, one stamp, one order notification. For a moment, it felt like the entire future of First Draw TCG cracked open and everything I’ve been planning, building, and dreaming about finally took its first breath.
That first sale was validation.
Proof that someone out there believed in what I’m building.
But then… nothing.
Days passed.
No new orders.
No notifications.
No little “cha‑ching” to remind me I’m on the right path.
And I’ll be honest the silence gets loud.
It makes you question things.
Am I pricing right?
Am I listing enough?
Is my store too small?
Is this even going to work?
Running a small online TCG shop is a weird mix of excitement and anxiety. You celebrate the tiny wins, but you also feel every quiet day like a weight on your chest. It’s easy to look at bigger shops and wonder how they got there and whether you ever will.
But on this Father’s Day Im reminded to never take anything for granted and be grateful for what I have in the moment.
You never know what lies ahead but with hard work and dedication anything is possible!
It starts here.
Every shop starts with one sale.
Every seller starts with one customer.
Every business starts with one moment where you choose to keep going even when it feels slow.
So that’s what I’m doing.
I’m listing more singles.
I’m improving my photos.
I’m learning how to buy better collections.
I’m building a brand, not just a store.
I’m figuring out how to make this steady, not lucky.
Because the truth is, consistency doesn’t come from waiting it comes from building.
And I’m building something I believe in.
